Port Loko City, (8th February 2024)- A devastating fire disaster has engulfed a house near the hospital quarters in Port Loko City, resulting in the destruction of millions of properties and widespread devastation. The fire broke out around 5pm today and quickly spread, causing panic and chaos among residents. Neighbors and well wishers swiftly responded to the scene in order to control the situation and assist affected individuals, but they could not put the fire under control to prevent the house from burning down to ashes. Nevertheless, many people battled relentlessly to extinguish the flames and prevent further damage to neighboring structures.
Preliminary reports indicate that the fire originated from a coal-pot within one of the resident apartments, rapidly spreading due to high winds and lack of fire hydrants in the area. The incident has resulted in extensive damage, leading to the displacement of tenants. However, significant challenges lie ahead as the affected individuals and the city as a whole strive to recover from this tragic event. Such an incident also stresses the importance of fire safety awareness in homes and establishments to prevent future tragedies. My sympathy to the affected victims. 😭😭.
